Our Day at Siam Park
Despite our 2026 summer holiday not being our first trip to Tenerife, it was our first trip to Siam Park. We travelled as a family of 3 (my daughter who was 8, my sister who was 16 and myself) so we decided to do a full day at Siam Park during our 1 week trip to Playa de Las Americas in July this year. Both the girls are absolute water fanatics, so it was a no brainer for a change from the hotel pool.
Siam Park is a 46-acre Thai-themed water park which contains some pretty impressive attractions, and this explains why it has been the #1 ranked water park on TripAdvisor for over a decade. The Wave Palace contains the world’s largest artificial wave at up to 3.3 meters tall, the lazy river elevates to 8 meters high which is the tallest in the world, and it features the largest collection of authentic Thai-themed buildings outside of Asia.
We booked our tickets in advance with my travel agent, which meant we went straight through when we arrived and we didn’t need to queue. 2 adult tickets and 1 child ticket cost £129. Our transport was free as we took a 6 minute walk to another local hotel and took the free shuttle bus which was really efficient. It was also open-top, so had it been cooler we would definitely have sat upstairs. The journey was about 15 minutes each way, so barely any time at all.
Our favourite element was the Lazy River, and we actually went on twice! A friend had told us in advance that we needed to “go left”, but at the time we weren’t sure what that meant. About 3/4 of the way round the river, there is a very narrow branch off, but blink and you will miss it. We actually had to get out of the floatie the first time so we could navigate our way in. Taking this route takes you up to the elevated river via a travellator, which eventually leads to a really fast water slide. The slide brings you out in an underground tunnel through the aquarium, where you can also see the Tower of Power tunnel too. My daughter was absolutely amazed at being able to see the sting rays! I will note that the slide is quite fast, so I wouldn’t recommend this for small children. My daughter is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and is also a tall, strong swimmer, so she absolutely revelled in it.
My sister, the daredevil that she is, did decide to go on the Tower of Power. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the top, and it is over in seconds, but she was absolutely buzzing afterwards. It is so vertical I was petrified the whole time, but it looked so so fun, and if the queue wasn’t so long she would definitely have rode again.
We did go on a few other smaller slides in between, but we stopped for lunch at around 12pm. I was really impressed by the price of the food, as when going to water parks it can be really expensive. Between us we had 3 drinks, 3 meals and some sides, and it came to €31 which was about £25. It was more expensive in the Sandcastle at Blackpool, so this was a really pleasant surprise.
Finally we visited Siam Beach which contains the wave pool. The structure itself is really striking, and the pool is varying depths throughout. Although not very deep, the waves are very deceiving and tall. I took my daughter right in, and although we could still stand the wave really overpowered us and we went right under! We moved further out and it was really enjoyable, the after shock waves are much smaller. The park itself is absolutely huge and I am convinced we only scratched the surface.
Overall we had a brilliant day and we would definitely return to tick off some more things we didn’t have time for. The girls were very tired by 3pm so we returned to the hotel, but we could definitely have gone back for another full day if we had more time.
